Welcome to my new newsletter…

‘Tis the Season to be Jolly…!
OMG! The Christmas adverts are out…! So it’s time for me to think about a short snappy session to boost the efforts of those people seeking to wear a little black number or tux during the festive season.

I have decided to use the research featured on my blog around visualisation as its integral to mind and behavioural change. After all what better vivid and ‘easy to construct’ pictures can there be than a party scene with you in it…? Looking great, feeling great… As we know from the research, visualising yourself thinner, leaner, looking great and then to carry that image into role play in your mind around eating, exercising, even choosing the size ten dress rather than the fourteen works and will help you make change.

This session will be available as an additional stand alone session to past clients and as part of the programme’s I offer to present and new clients up to Xmas. If you are interested do get in touch!

Eating and Social Pressure
Continuing a theme, so to speak… Christmas has its own pressures around food, but I am increasingly aware from my clients that quite often behaviour around food is shaped by a person’s expectations of the response they will get when seeking to change the way they eat. Typically people are not aware of this until we discuss and reflect on why they might eat more than they knowingly need at a family gathering, at a social event, or even in the regular working week. People anticipate that they will quite often be perceived negatively, as being ‘funny’ or ‘rude’ in declining food offered or in ‘not letting go and joining in’. Given this I am quite regularly offering a session which uses a concept of protecting yourself from negatives… from real or perceived negative reactions of others. I show my clients through visualistion and in hypnotic experience rehearsal, that they can continue to feel good when asserting themselves and by simply ‘throwing back where they came from’ any negatives as belonging to the source… not themselves. ”Liberating” and ”amazing impact” have been two of many comments in response.

So if you are thinking your behaviour… around food or anything else… is shaped by the anticipation you have around making change then contact me!

St George’s Park
I’m delighted to have been invited to St George’s Park – England and the FA’s new state of the art training centre. The invitation has come about as part of Spire Health Care’s relationship with the FA and in particular the ‘Perform’ Physio and Sports Performance service Spire offer. I am hoping to learn a good deal, and of course am simply excited by the opportunity to see this great facility.

My own efforts to build the Sports Performance and Motivational Side of my practice are seeing results as more clients join me. Results are good and I thought I’d let you listen to this short but to the point testimonial from Gary in Liverpool who has transformed himself…! Well done Gary… https://soundcloud.com/russellhoyles/testimonial-03-08-2013

Ribble Valley Private GP Practice
As my own practice expands I am finding new and exciting partners. I will hopefully be able to announce a tie up with a private GP Practice in the Ribble Valley shortly. I am excited by the potential in this location and in particular by the attention given to men’s health. Issues around weight, support to cancer patients, therapy in the realms of physical presentations of stress will I anticipate be key aspects of my work… Watch this space!

Russell Hoyles on BBC Radio Lancashire
I appeared on the Sally Naden Radio Show on BBC Radio Lancashire a few weeks ago as a panellist on the show with stand in presenter Stephen Lowe.

Topics included weight loss, life coaching and more. This was the second time I’ve been featured on local radio this year having been a guest on the Doctor Mike Show on Liverpool’s Radio City in January and is something I’ve started to enjoy…

Since appearing on Radio Lancashire, I have been confirmed as a ‘go to’ panellist for the station and will hopefully be back on air soon…!
