For my blog this month, a copy of a poem I wrote for Russell. I’ve struggled to find the words to be added to the ‘testimonials page, but wanted to contribute..
Hopefully, it will explain how I feel about the programme Russell offers.
TAKE A SEAT!
If you’re struggling with your willpower and tearing out your hair There’s somewhere you can go for help, let me tell you where… Just a commonplace and regular, normal-looking chair!
If you’re storing too much fat, like a hibernating bear
Need to change your lifestyle but don’t think that you dare
Try sitting in the fanciful, most fantastic, fascinating chair!
It’s not made of finest leather, it’s not a grand affair, But something awesome happens – there are special forces there!
In the most relaxing, thought-provoking, therapeutic chair!
You’ll find yourself ‘chillaxing’ as if there’s no-one there
And believing everything you hear without a single care.
In the rakish, rich and ratable, reflective, radiant chair!
You’ll hear a voice a-talking – but no airs or graces there
Just appeasing, pleasing vowels from Eastern Lancashire!
In the happy, hushed, hypnotic, health-improving chair!
But here’s the FACT – (sad but true): it’s NOT a ‘special’ chair
And to make-believe it really is, quite frankly, isn’t fair.
So the secret I’ll reveal to you – it’s real, I truly swear
(I’ve sat in it myself you see, and now I don’t despair):
What the chair relies on, is a clever Anchor-man:
Altruistic, skilled and patient – he’ll show you that YOU CAN!
You’ll find that you are changing, becoming who you longed to be
But when you thank him, he’ll reply: “YOU did it though, not me!”
Of course, he’s right – the power’s yours! But this I need to share:
Yes, the ‘MAGIC’ lies within yourself!
(But that’s ‘cus Russell put it there!)
