Research into the Relationship Between Weight Loss and Eating Habits

According to new research about eating habits, weight loss can be boosted by eating two fulfilling meals a day

weight-loss-eating-habitsAccording to new research eating two meals a day is better for weight loss than eating the same amount of calories in six smaller more regular meals. Research carried out by the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (http://www.ikem.cz/www/en) found that when people with type 2 diabetes had eating habits of two large meals a day they lost more than when they ate six meals a day with the same amount of calories.

I came across this the other day. It was posted on the National Council for Hypnotherapy web site. Those who know me will be mindful of my somewhat critical views of the ‘rules’ promoted by the diet and food industry… ‘three meals a day’… ‘points’… ‘sins’… etc… nonsense!

My take on eating is that we are all individuals and my own one meal a day routine suits me but may not suit you! This research is interesting in that it challenges the long held and commonly advanced view on eating and type two diabetes. ‘Small and often’ is the ‘rule’… advice that morphs in reality to ‘not so small and often’ especially where the patients diabetes is related to already established harmful eating habits.

Does this research point to a new way forward. Well it might! If it suits you!

That is the point! Whichever way forward you choose you have to be comfortable with it. If a weight loss reduction plan is going to work in the long term its got to come from the head first and be easy and enjoyable.
