She’s a Winner!! Sports Hypnotherapy Liverpool – A Golfing Success.

Sports Hypnotherapy LiverpoolAs you will know I have an interest in Sports Performance. Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, all endorse the use of visualistion and mental preparation and rehearsal as key to success in golf. Last Sunday I did a session with a lady golfer who captains a club team in Lancashire. The issue of being fearful of success and the pressure of sustaining an improved handicap had she believed, compromised her game to the extent that a good round would go wrong if and when it looked like she was in with a chance of winning.

I did a session in which we instil a post hypnotic suggestion which induces instant calm and disassociates the player from the pressure of the competition, the consequences of success, and external influences like the presence of competitors or the scorecard. Simply she was encouraged through the work we did to engage her ‘inner game’ and play instinctively… see below notice how she ‘let go’ of pressure and do contact me if you are interested in knowing more about the sports performance side of my work…

”So having listened to my tape every day since Sunday I played in a comp on Monday in the pouring rain.  Unfortunately it was reduced to a nine hole comp so although I played steady I did not qualify for the next stage, but I am quite sure I would have done had it have been an 18, so was a bit disappointed.

Today was one of our big board comps and I was determined from the start that I would win and dang the consequences of my handicap.  Had a dreadful start on the first hole but picked up and played steady.  By the 15 hole I had only used ten of my handicap I was certain I could win and again was not concerned about my handicap coming down.

Unfortunately I hit three bunkers in quick succession resulting in a terrible score on that hole but the nature of the comp was a Bogey where you play match play against the course and as I was already four holes up, I hoped losing one would not be so detrimental.  Anyway to cut to the chase I won one more hole out of the last two and halved the other one, which put me four holes up again.   I just thought hopefully that will be enough and if it wasn’t at least my handicap would come down which is a good thing in itself.

I WON the competition and my handicap is down to 17.  Haha I am so pleased, I did not at anytime feel panicked or pressurised about the thought of my handicap changing as a result of winning or not.

THANK YOU :-)).     I look forward to playing the 2 x 36 hole competitions that I have to play over the next few weeks.”
